This version is developed by United Coders and was supposed to be released in the first quarter of 2008. Some of the assets from this game were moved over to the DSi Ware version of the game.
The lead programmer is Hans Olsen.
It had also been announced that United Coders would be releasing DS versions of Space Ace and Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp at a later date, but now all versions from United Coders were put on hold.
So far, the following features have been announced:
- Two modes of play: 1983 Arcade Mode and Director's Cut
- 1983 version plays just like the original with all the death scenes and quirks
- The Director's Cut is aimed at newer players and is more unique. It supports the rumble pak, stylus and voice recognition
