Dragon's Lair and Escape from Singe's Castle
Commodore 64, - 1987Published by: Electronic Arts
The Commodore 64/128 version of this game is very similar to the
Coleco Adam implementation.
This actually came out as two separate releases: the original 'Dragon's Lair'
and then 'Escape from Singe's Castle' followed. What is pictured here is the
combined version on one 'flippy' disk.
There are some differences from the Adam version however in terms of the
screens available. In Part One, known just as Dragon's Lair
there are: Falling Platform, Skull Hallway, Burning Ropes,
The Weapons Room, Ramps and Giddy Goons, The Tentacle Room, The Second
Platform, The Deadly Checkerboard, The Dragon.
In Part Two, known as Escape from Singe's Castle the
screens are: Ye River Caves, Boulder Alley, Throne Room,
Dungeons of the Lizard King, Magical Flying Horse, Doom Dungeon,
Mystic Mosaic, Mud Monsters.
These versions of the game really don't capture all of the excitement
of the original, but it is interesting to see the characters portrayed
in a different light.
Other interesting information: Apparently Zzap 64 (a Commodore mag from the UK) had their "cut out and
make your own Escape From The Lizard King stage"!
Available on Cassette Tape & Floppy Disk.
